Amazon SchoolRewards

Amazon SchoolRewards
Earn Money for Midas Creek while you shop!
If you shop on Amazon, you can effortlessly earn money for Midas Creek Elementary (MCE). Midas Creek is part of the Amazon SchoolRewards Associates program, a simple and painless way for you to help us fundraise, simply by shopping as you normally do at Amazon.com. There is no sign up involved – you just click on our school shopping link to get to Amazon and then shop as you normally do – Amazon does the rest. You don’t have to sign up, and you don’t have to enter any special codes – just link before you shop.
THE LINK IS ON THE SIDEBAR OF THIS PAGE!!

Clicking on this unique SchoolRewards link takes you directly to Amazon.com, where you can browse and shop just as you normally would. Each month, Amazon pays us up to 10% of all purchases made by shoppers who reached Amazon through this special MCE link. That includes products sold at Amazon by other companies, too.

Bookmark And Share Our SchoolRewards Link
Make this the first link you click each time you shop at Amazon. Help us cast a wider net by sharing the link to our blog with friends and family. Anyone, anywhere who uses this link, even non–MCE families, can help us raise funds for the school by clicking our link before they shop at Amazon.
The Nitty Gritty
•   Order matters: You need to link, shop, and check out, in that order. If you don’t click on our link first, go to Amazon in your usual way, put things in your cart, and then remember to click on the link and check out – your sale will not earn us funds. You have to click our link before you put anything in your cart.
•   The clock matters: You have 24 hours from when you link to put an item in your cart; after that you will need to link again. If you link, put something in your cart within 24 hours, but don’t want to buy it right away, that is fine – the purchase will still earn us funds if you finalize it within 90 days: just remember to link before you checkout.
•   One purchase session per link session: Arriving at Amazon through our link is good for 24 hours or until you actually place your order – after that, you need to link again. So if you link, complete a purchase, and then need to make another purchase – you have to link again in order for the purchase to earn us funds.
•   You won’t see anything that identifies you as an MCE shopper. Don’t worry - as long as you used the MCE link and follow the order and clock guidelines, your purchase will count.
•   The amount MCE can earn ranges from 4% to 10%, depending on what you purchase and our total shipped items for the calendar month. The more we shop using the SchoolRewards link, the more we will earn. We will post earnings reports on the PTA blog.
Thank you for your support! This is a great opportunity for people who want to help MCE but don’t have extra time or resources to spare. We appreciate your contribution to our student programs and fundraising efforts.
Happy shopping!

4th & 5th grade...Day of Dance - November 3rd

Every year “Dance and the Child International” (daCi) sponsors a statewide dance conference for children in Utah.  Their mission is to promote dance for children and excellence in the teaching of dance to children across the United States.

The conference this year is on Saturday, November 3, 2012.  It will be held at BYU from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m..  The conference is a day of dancing, with workshops in all forms of dance for ages 8 and up.  The theme this year is “Stories that Move Us”.  The children that attend will be making books that they will be able to bring home.  The culmination of the conference is a performance given by the individual groups that attend.

Performing at the Day of Dance is a privilege, as they only invite a few groups in the state to perform each year.  Midas Creek has been invited to participate this year.  Our 5th grade classes have been learning a dance that goes along with the conference theme perfectly.  Because of this, we are giving our 5th grade students the opportunity first to sign up for the conference.

In order to perform we need the children to register for the conference.  The cost is $10 per child.  daCi is providing a bus for our students to get there and back.

In order to participate we need a commitment for the following:
1.      Register for the conference on line. (Details below)
2.      Attend 3 before-school rehearsals.  (Details below)
3.      Be available Saturday November 3rd from 7:30 – 4:00.

We hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity.

When you register your child please specify our school in the School/Group name, so I can know who registered. Only students that register will be able to perform.

Extra rehearsals:
Monday Oct 29, Wednesday Oct 31, and Friday November 2nd, from 8:00 – 8:50.

THANK YOU!!

Our first annual Fun Run was an enormous success!  The results exceeded our expectations!  We would like to thank all of you who participated in this event.  Because of your incredible support, we were able to bring in 75% more profit than our Halloween carnival ever did!  All of the proceeds from our fundraiser will directly benefit each child individually as they participate in field trips, assemblies, reflections, computer programs, etc.  We are looking forward to more successful Fun Runs in the years to come at Midas Creek.
Also, we would like to thank our great community sponsors who donated auction baskets and items for our swag bags.  What a fantastic community we live in!
Thank you again for your continued commitment and support to the Midas Creek PTA.

Child Protection Registry

DoNotContact.Utah.gov
Keep Adult Advertisements Out Of Your Children’s Inboxes

About The Utah Child Protection Registry
The Utah Child Protection Registry is a unique program that empowers families to stop adult advertisements from reaching their children’s e-mail addresses, mobile phone numbers, and instant messenger IDs. The free program is administered by the Division of Consumer Protection and enforced in conjunction with the State Attorney General’s Office.

How To Register You and Your Family
After going to www.donotcontact.utah.gov, complete your registrations in three easy steps:

1.      Verify you are a state resident by entering your zip code, and then you may register your parental, family, and children’s contact points.

2.      Designate an administrator for the contact points registered.

3.      Refer friends and family members to the program by instantly sending them Registry sign up information.

Addresses Protected
The contact points protected under the registry comprise of:
-E-mail Addresses
-Mobile Phone Numbers (SMS)
-Instant Messenger IDs
-Fax Numbers

Stopping Adult Product Advertisements
The Utah Child Protection Registry is not a spam filter or a service that “blocks” unwanted messages. Companies and marketers are prohibited from sending messages for products or services that are illegal under Utah law for minors to purchase. These include but are not limited to alcoholic beverages and products, tobacco products, pornographic materials, and/or gambling services.

What If You Are Contacted After You Register
Once an address is registered, senders of messages that advertise certain adult-oriented
products or services are required to remove the address from their lists within 30 days.
If a registered address is contacted with an adult-oriented message, you may submit a report to
the Division of Consumer Protection. The process is user-friendly and ultimately allows the
registry to work at its best. By submitting a report, you are helping the state fight against those
companies and marketers who are not complying with the registry laws.
