The Utah legislative
session is in full swing, and the funding bill (S.B. 75) for the Beverley
Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTS Program) is making its way through
the legislature. This year, we are asking for $7 million to continue the
program’s growth, and have taken steps to give districts and educators even
greater flexibility in implementing the arts-integrated program in their
schools. This takes us one step closer to our eventual goal of making
high-quality, arts-integrated education available to every student across the
state.
At this crucial time,
we are calling on our arts advocates to once again petition the legislature for
funding of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTS Program).
While many of our supporters have already written to their legislators showing
their support for the BTS Program, there are still thousands who have not yet
raised their voice.
Please take just a few
minutes today to contact your legislators online at http://www.artworksforkids.org/en/contact-legislators and
ask that the BTS Program get the ongoing funding it needs to continue growing
and enriching the education of our Utah students.
